Cowlitz Falls Reservoir Lake Scanewa Reopening Soon



Cowlitz Falls Reservoir, Lake Scanewa, has been closed for maintenance activities scheduled to be completed on October 30th, 2024. The reservoir will begin to be refilled immediately following the completion of the scheduled maintenance activities however, due to the current flow conditions, it may take several days to refill the lake to the level needed to reopen the recreation facilities. Once the reservoir is refilled to a safe level, Lewis County PUD will reopen the reservoir for recreation.

Lewis County PUD Commissioners Approve First Rate Increase in Three Years Due to Rising Costs

In response to rising costs, Lewis County PUD Commissioners approved an upcoming adjustment in electrical rates, effective January 1, 2025. The rates will be increasing 7.1% which roughly translates to a $7.80 increase to the average residential customer’s monthly bill. The commissioners also approved an additional 1.25% adjustment that will take effect January 1, 2026.

As the demand for electricity increases, the need for qualified personnel trained in the myriad of new technologies, safety procedures, and evolving dangers associated with power generation, transmission, and distribution has never been more important.
