Chehalis, WA – Scammers have again attempted to prey on Lewis County PUD (PUD) customers.

The PUD recently received a call from a customer reporting they were called by a scammer.

According to the customer, the scammer said that he could help them get a senior discount on their power bill and asked for bank account number.

Fortunately, the customer did NOT give him the information and hung-up and called the PUD.

“It is frustrating that these scammers are trying to prey on people,” said Jenn Bush PUD Customer Service Manager. “I am glad this customer did the right thing, hang up and call the PUD.”

Recipients of such fraudulent phone calls should under no circumstances agree to send money or give bank account, credit card, or other personal information.

Rather, customers are advised to immediately contact PUD Customer Service at 360-748-9261 to verify the claim.
