Commercial & Industrial Lighting Incentives
Upgrading to efficient LED lighting can noticeably reduce your business’s energy use—lighting is one of the biggest and most accessible energy saving opportunities for commercial facilities. Lighting plays such a critical role in both operating costs and workplace comfort, and improving it benefits everyone: businesses save on energy and maintenance, and the utility reduces system demand through cost effective conservation.
What We Offer
Lewis County PUD provides incentives for qualifying lighting projects, including:
- Replacing old fixtures
- Retrofitting existing fixtures
- New construction projects that exceed energy code requirements
Incentives may be capped at 70% of project costs and/or $0.50 per kWh saved, whichever is lower. Rebates are subject to change and are contingent upon available program funding. Click here for a list of current program offerings.
How to Get Started
- Schedule a Lighting Audit- A lighting audit is completed to document existing conditions. Vendor audits may be used, but the District will verify them.
- Gather Contractor Bids- The customer secures bids for eligible work; contractor resources are available through the Northwest Trade Ally Network. Customers planning to complete the work themselves should first consult with Energy Services staff.
- Submit Your Proposal- The selected contractor submits the project through BPA’s Lighting Calculator. The District then prepares a customer application outlining scope, cost, estimated savings, and expected incentive.
- Receive Notice to Proceed- Once the signed application is returned, the District issues a Notice to Proceed and work may begin.
- Install & Verify- After installation, the District conducts an inspection to confirm the project meets program requirements. Incentives are issued after verification and receipt of all required documentation.
