PUD Commissioners Add Funding For Low-Income Senior Discount
Chehalis, WA - Lewis County PUD (PUD) Commissioners approved to allocate another $200,000 for the Low-Income Senior Pilot Program at their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Through the program, qualified PUD customers may now receive a reduced or zero daily Service Charge, based on their total annual household income, family size, and the age of the account holder. The customer must be at least 62 years of age to qualify.
Total annual household income, from all sources, must be equal to or less than 225% of the Federally Established Poverty Guidelines. Those equal to or less than 225% of the Federal Poverty Level have their Daily Service Charge reduced by 50% and those equal to or less than 150% have their Daily Service Charge reduced by 100%.
Only one discount per customer is allowed and will be applied to the residence where the senior resides.
