Get to Know Dave Fenn, Your New PUD Commissioner
Dave Fenn, the newest commissioner for the Lewis County Public Utility District (PUD), began his term on January 1, 2025, and brings decades of experience and a deep commitment to the community. With a rich background in both leadership and service, Fenn is well-equipped to help guide the PUD into the future while keeping rates affordable and services reliable.
Fenn’s dedication to his community spans many years and a variety of roles. He served for over 20 years as a commissioner for the Boistfort Fire Department and he has spent 21 years on the Board of the Lewis Conservation District.
Dave has a wealth of professional experience beyond his public service. He spent seven years teaching and coaching high school, he has been a part of the Fenn Farms partnership for 40 years, and he has been a partner in The Farm Store for two decades. His leadership extends to his role as president of the Southwest Washington Growers Cooperative and treasurer for the Washington Association of Conservation Districts.
A Boistfort High School graduate, Fenn went on to earn a degree in education with a math major from Pacific Lutheran University. He has served on the advisory committees for the Assessor’s office and the Flood Control District.
Fenn believes that the Lewis County PUD has already made a significant positive impact on the community. The PUD has provided reliable, low-cost electric service to areas that once lacked it, which has been crucial for residents and local businesses alike. With some of the lowest rates in the state, the PUD has earned a strong reputation for keeping costs down while maintaining dependable service.
He recognizes that as the demand for power continues to grow, maintaining a steady supply of low-cost, reliable, and clean energy will be critical. Fenn is committed to supporting hydroelectric power, the region's most affordable and dependable clean energy source, while exploring additional ways to meet the area's energy needs.
“My primary goal is to keep rates affordable while ensuring that service remains reliable for the entire District.” said Fenn. “I am grateful for your support in electing me to this valuable position for our community and I will work hard to ensure that the PUD is the best it can be.”
Fenn’s term runs through December 31, 2030.
