  • Cowlitz Falls Recreation Facilities

Lewis County PUD operates four public recreation facilities, three along the Cowlitz Falls Reservoir and one near the town of Packwood.

    1. The seasonal campground on Peters Road, Cowlitz Falls (Leonard "Bud" Allen Park) Campground, is located on the banks of the Cowlitz River. Here you will find camping facilities, restrooms, a picnic area, a ball field and a boat ramp.
    2. The Day Use Park, on the banks of Lake Scanawa, has a boat ramp (The boat ramp will be closed for use between March 7th - March 14th), picnic accommodations, and a boat ramp. (Fishing is closed every year from March 1st through May 31st)
    3. The Packwood Community Ball Park, located just outside the town of Packwood, provides a ball field and picnic area.
    4. The Copper Canyon Creek Take-Out, located on the Cispus River, provides rafters and kayaker facilities to exit the river before entering the Cowlitz falls reservoir. (Port Blakely has installed a temporary road block just west of the takeout road and will be locking the gate at the Lewis County Dam for approximatley two months. However, access to the take out will remain open.)
