  • Green Power

Green Power is electricity generated from a clean, renewable energy source such as solar, wind, biomass, landfill gas, low impact hydro, or geothermal. Lewis County PUD customers who wish to promote the use and development of renewable or environmentally friendly energy resources can do so now by signing up for some Green Power.

Lewis County PUD has contracted with Energy Northwest to purchase approximately 1 megawatt of power from its Nine Canyon Wind Project near Kennewick, Washington. Construction of the project was completed in 2002, and the 37 wind turbines began producing energy in September 2002.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN PURCHASING GREEN POWER?

Lewis County PUD has established a voluntary Green Power Energy Rate for those who wish to support renewable energy resources.

Lewis County PUD has purchased a 2% share of the 48-megawatt Nine Canyon Wind Project near Kennewick, Washington which began operation last fall.

Customers of the PUD who wish can sign up now to purchase this wind energy for a portion of their electrical energy needs.

The PUD's optional Green Power Rate allows customers to purchase 100 kilowatt-hour blocks of energy for an additional cost of $2.00 per month for each block.

For more information or to sign up for this new program, contact the Chehalis PUD office (360-748-9261) or Morton PUD office (360-496-6100).
